A brochure shows you the plan. A site visit shows you the truth. Whether you visit with us or on your own, use this list so nothing important is missed.
Before you go
- Ask for the plot number and layout plan in advance so you can find the exact plot.
- Bring a copy of the document checklist you plan to verify.
- Save the plot's location pin on your phone for later reference.
On the plot
- Find your plot number. Look for boundary markers or pegs, and match them to the layout plan.
- Walk the boundaries. Check that the shape and size feel consistent with what you were told.
- Take photos and a location pin from all four corners.
The surroundings
- Roads: Is the road to the plot already built, how wide is it, and what is the surface like?
- Utilities: Where are the power, water and drainage points — already in place, or promised?
- Levels and drainage: Does water collect near the plot after rain? Ask what is planned to handle runoff.
- Neighbours: What is being built around the plot, and what is still empty land?
Questions to ask on site
- Which charges are included in the price, and which are extra?
- What is the possession timeline in writing?
- What approvals are in place today, and which are still pending?
- Who maintains the roads and common areas?
After the visit
Do not decide on the spot. Take the documents home, have your advocate review them, and compare at least two projects on the same checklist. A good project will still make sense a week later.
